We have heard it regularly at each of our celebrations of the Liturgy on the weekend that THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THAT GOD IS DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH US. Made in the image and likeness of God, which is love, we cannot live isolated. God IS love that communicates in his creation and his relationship with us. This is what we truly celebrate today. By saying that God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the Trinity, we are not making a riddle. It is something very sacred and grand, because it refers to the very nature of God. We are made in his image and likeness; our relationships will be like those of God.
Today the Spirit of God continues to inspire and to encourage us, to carry on with the proclamation of salvation. When we experience the presence of God in our lives, we feel called to participate in that love and to share with those around us. To live as God is TO LIVE LOVINGLY. It is in the daily difficulties and joys when love is practiced. True love is tested in the pleasant times and during difficult times; it is tested in sickness and in health, in poverty and wealth; that is, one loves a person just how they are and not depending on the circumstances.
True love requires PATIENCE, because the person we love will not always do what we agree with or approve of. True love requires great mercy and forgiveness of the faults of others as well as our own. True love requires a memory that keeps the good and tries to forget the bad; it requires starting again every day; it demands selfsacrifice. God’s love for us is also unconditional, generous, free, committed and sacrificed until his death on a cross. It is only through love that we find and are human; without loving, we would lose our identity as children and the image of God.

Lo hemos escuchado regularmente en cada una de nuestras celebraciones de la liturgia durante el fin de semana, que lo único que importa es que Dios está profundamente enamorado de nosotros. Hechos a imagen y semejanza de Dios, que es amor, no podemos vivir aislados. Dios es amor que se comunica en su creación y en su relación con nosotros. Esto es lo que realmente celebramos hoy. Al decir que Dios es el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo, la Trinidad, no estamos haciendo un enigma. Es algo muy sagrado, y grandioso porque se refiere a la naturaleza misma de Dios. Estamos hechos a su imagen y semejanza, nuestra relación será como la de Dios.
Hoy, el Espíritu de Dios continúa inspirándonos y animándonos, a continuar con la proclamación de la salvación. Cuando experimentamos la presencia de Dios en nuestras vidas, nos sentimos llamados a participar en ese amor y a compartir con quienes nos rodean. Vivir como Dios es VIVIR AMAR. Es en las dificultades y alegrías cotidianas cuando se practica el amor. El verdadero amor se pone a prueba en los momentos agradables y en los tiempos difíciles; se pone a prueba en enfermedad y en salud, en pobreza y riqueza; es decir, uno ama a una persona tal como es, y no dependiendo de las circunstancias.
El verdadero amor requiere PACIENCIA, porque la persona que amamos no siempre hará lo que estemos de acuerdo o aprobemos. El verdadero amor requiere gran misericordia y perdón de las faltas de los demás, así como las nuestras. El verdadero amor requiere una memoria que mantenga lo bueno y trate de olvidar lo malo; requiere comenzar de nuevo todos los días; exige auto-sacrificio. El amor de Dios por nosotros también es incondicional, generoso, libre, comprometido y sacrificado hasta su muerte en una cruz. Es solo a través del amor que encontramos y somos humanos; Sin amar, perderíamos nuestra identidad de niños y la imagen de Dios.
