If God came for you at this moment, would God find you prepared to go? Do you think of such a moment with fear or with joy of encountering the friend whom you love?
It is healthy to reflect on occasion about those questions. We get so wrapped up in earthly responsibilities, on things of this world, that we often forget that we are made for the life hereafter. We need to be vigilant. If we are true disciples of Jesus, we need to be prepared for His second coming. The center of our life should be to prepare for that coming. We do not know when it will be, so we must be vigilant to respond to situations in a manner that is consistent with the will of God and is responsible so that, as soon as it is in our hands, we begin making the Kingdom here on earth.
What a different world this would be if all worked at making more of life here for the anticipation of that life hereafter. Jesus asks us today to BE PREPARED. He wants us to have our hearts in the right place, that is, that we love him in such a way that any time is good for his coming. Waiting for eternity means to live every moment of the day for God. God’s love is a treasure that should motivate all our efforts and our hopes. What we give back to him is simply what already is his. No fear needed, just happy anticipation to meet our friend and to live forever.

Si Dios viniera por ti en este momento, ¿Estarias preparado para irte con El? ¿Piensas en ese momento con miedo o con la alegría de encontrarte con el amigo que amas?
Es saludable reflexionar en ocasiones sobre esas preguntas. Estamos tan envueltos en responsabilidades terrenales, en cosas de este mundo, que a menudo olvidamos que estamos hechos para la vida del más allá. Necesitamos estar vigilantes. Si somos verdaderos discípulos de Jesús, debemos estar preparados para su segunda venida. El centro de nuestra vida debe ser prepararse para esa venida. No sabemos cuándo será, así que debemos estar atentos para responder a las situaciones, de una manera que sea consistente con la voluntad de Dios; y es responsable de que, tan pronto como esté en nuestras manos, comencemos a hacer el Reino aquí en la tierra.
Qué diferente sería este mundo si todos trabajaran para hacer más vida aquí para la anticipación de esa vida en el futuro. Jesús nos pide hoy que estemos preparados. Quiere que tengamos nuestros corazones en el lugar correcto, es decir, que lo amemos de tal manera que cualquier momento sea bueno para su venida. Esperar la eternidad significa vivir cada momento del día para Dios. El amor de Dios es un tesoro que debe motivar todos nuestros esfuerzos y nuestras esperanzas. Lo que le devolvemos es simplemente lo que ya es suyo. No se necesita miedo, solo anticipación feliz para conocer a nuestro amigo y vivir para siempre.
