Friends, today, Oct. 6 is RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY. Each October in past years is Respect Life month. The Bishops of the USA urge all of us to help build a culture of life on a daily basis, as best we can. By respecting each life from conception to natural death in all its forms, we can witness by our own lives that life is a precious gift from our loving God.
This year the theme is: “Christ our Hope: In Every Season of Life”. There are so many attacks against human life all around us it seems, and they grow more numerous by the day. But we know that Jesus came to conquer sin and death. Thus, through our Christian witness everywhere, we can be signs of HOPE, and we can challenge this current culture of death, affirming LIFE with prayer and action.
It is the vocation of the laity, EACH OF US, to go out to be as leaven in the world, a light in the darkness. The Bishops urge us to be that sign by working to ensure that justice and solidarity will increase, and a new culture of life will be affirmed in our country. It is important that we do our part and allow God to work through us in every moment of every day.
Watch the bulletin this month of October for various sources of good reading material about LIFE in all its dimensions. We must seek to change hearts and minds, so that our world can again be one of life, peace and tranquility.

Amigos, hoy, 6 de octubre es DOMINGO DE RESPECTO A LA VIDA. Cada octubre en los últimos años es el mes de Respeto a la Vida. Los obispos de los Estados Unidos nos instan a todos a ayudar a construir diariamente una cultura de la vida, lo mejor que podamos. A respetar cada vida desde la concepción hasta la muerte natural en todas sus formas, nosotros podemos testificar por nuestra propia vida que la vida es un regalo precioso de nuestro Dios amoroso.
Este año el tema es: "Cristo, nuestra esperanza: en cada época de la vida". Parece que hay tantos ataques contra la vida humana a nuestro alrededor, y cada día son más numerosos. Pero sabemos que Jesús vino a conquistar el pecado y la muerte. Por lo tanto, a través de nuestro testimonio cristiano en todas partes, podemos ser signos de ESPERANZA, y podemos desafiar esta cultura actual de la muerte, afirmando la VIDA con oración y acción.
Es la vocación de los laicos, CADA UNO DE NOSOTROS, salir a ser como la levadura en el mundo, una luz en la oscuridad. Los obispos nos exhortan a ser esa señal al trabajar para garantizar que la justicia y la solidaridad aumenten, y se afirme una nueva cultura de vida en nuestro país. Es importante que hagamos nuestra parte y permitamos que Dios trabaje a través de nosotros en todo momento. de todos los dias.
