There are many different take -aways from our being “sheltered inside” these past weeks. Some can turn us to complaining, or being negative about all that is taking place. There are certainly enough negatives floating around in our reality. Recently I listened to a reflection of Bishop Robert Barron (Los Angeles) whom many of you may know from wordonfire.com. He was quick to agree that this pandemic can cause depression and discouragement, but he offered a positive question that is worth some moments of pondering, I believe.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOVE HAVE OPENED UP FOR US BECAUSE OF THE CORONA VIRUS?

Have we taken time to reach out to others around us whom we may have otherwise forgotten (thanks to our members calling seasoned parish members)? Do we know the needs of our elderly neighbors who could use a helping hand? Have we connected with relatives who might have previously been estranged for whatever reason? Bishop Barron reminds us that if we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, we, LIKE HIM, can be a sign of hope for others. Jesus conquered death and rose as He promised. He sends us out to bring hope in all the ways we can by being Easter people. Let us resolve to allow the opportunities for love to open our hearts a little wider. Let us be creative and ready to reach out in loving care, giving a smile to that person, even one 6 feet from us. Peace.

Hay diferentes ventajas de que estemos "refugiados" en las últimas semanas. Algunos pueden convertise en quejas, o el ser negativos sobre todo lo que está pasando. Ciertamente hay suficientes negativas flotando alrededor en nuestra realidad. Hace poco escuché un refleccion del obispo Robert Barron (Los Angeles) a quien muchos de ustedes pueden saber de wordonfire.com se apresuró a estar de acuerdo en que esta pandemia puede causar depresión y desánimo, pero ofreció una pregunta positiva que vale la pena en algunos momentos meditar, Pensar.

¿QUE OPORTUNIDADES DE AMOR SE HAN ABIERTO PARA NOSOTROS DEBIDO AL CORONA VIRUS?

¿Nos hemos tomado el tiempo para llegar a otras personas que nos rodean que de otra manera podríamos haber olvidado (gracias a que nuestros miembros llaman a miembros experimentados de la parroquia)? ¿Conocemos las necesidades de nuestros vecinos ancianos que podrían necesitar una mano amiga? ¿Nos hemos contactado con familiares que podrían haber estado distanciado previamente por alguna razón? El obispo Barron nos recuerda que si mantenemos los ojos fijos en Jesús, nosotros,COMO EL, podemos ser un signo de esperanza para los demás. Jesús vencio la muerte y se levantó como lo prometió. Él nos envía a traer esperanza de todas las maneras que podemos al ser personas de Pascua. Resolvamos para permitir que las oportunidades de amor abran nuestros corazones un poco más. Seamos creativos y listos para alcanzar un cuidado amoroso y darle una sonrisa a esa persona, incluso a 6 pies de nosotros. Paz.
