Greetings from Sister Marlita / Saludos de Sister Marlita

Happy Mother’s Day to each of you women who are Mothers, or who have acted as mothers with someone in your lifetime. Many of you who may not have had your own family, have guided and helped form others along the way of life, too. May that role always bring you a bit closer to our loving God, as you share love and care in your unique way.

Since we are still in the “sheltering at home” mode, I read with joy the words of Jesus in the Gospel today. He said to his disciples "DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED. You have faith in God; have faith also in me.” Along with the message Father Dave gave us at Easter, to not be afraid, I believe this phrase of Jesus is a comfort and a great piece of advice at any time of our lives. Our hearts can be troubled by many other causes, not only a bothersome virus. Then the following words of Jesus continue: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

Jesus is our source of direction, and his life is a model for us to imitate. I cannot help but believe that his way as the Resurrected Jesus is meant to bring us true peace. Every time that Jesus appeared to the disciples after rising from the dead, he said “SHALOM, or PEACE.” He wanted his followers to know that His peace was a gift to each one, and to each of us, as well. May we walk in the knowledge that during this Easter season, we can deepen our inner peace because we depend on him more. Let us strive to be calm, dependent on Jesus Alive.

Feliz Día de la Madre a cada una de ustedes, mujeres que son Madres, o que han actuado como madres con alguien en su vida. Muchos de ustedes que tal vez no han tenido su propia familia, han guiado y ayudado a formar a otros a lo largo de la forma de la vida, también. Que ese papel siempre te acerque un poco más a nuestro Dios amoroso, al compartir el amor y el cuidado de tu manera única.

Sin saber exactamente dónde podríamos estar para el 10 de mayo, todavía dentro o fuera del modo de "refugio", leí con alegría las palabras de Jesús en el Evangelio de hoy. Dijo a sus discípulos:"NO DEJEN QUE SUS CORAZONES SE ANGUSTIEN". Tienes fe en Dios; ten fe también en mí..." Junto con el mensaje que el Padre Dave nos dio en Pascua, para no tener miedo, creo que esta frase de Jesús es un consuelo y un gran consejo en cualquier momento de nuestra vida. Nuestros corazones pueden estar preocupados por muchas causas, no sólo un molesto virus. Entonces las siguientes palabras de Jesús continúan: "Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida.

Jesús es nuestra fuente de dirección, y su vida es un modelo para que nosotros. No puedo evitar creer que su camino como Jesús resucitado está destinado a traernos la verdadera paz. Cada vez que Jesús se apareció a los discípulos después de levantarse de entre los muertos, dijo SHALOM, o PAZ. Quería que sus seguidores supieran que Su paz era un regalo para cada uno, y también para cada uno de nosotros. Que caminemos en el conocimiento de que durante esta época pascual, podemos profundizar nuestra paz interior porque dependemos más de él. Esforzemonos por estar tranquilos, dependientes de Jesús Vivo.
