As we continue the Easter season the readings portray the Good News of Jesus Christ overflowing and growing like leaven. It cannot be stifled or stamped out.
In the first reading, we learn that the Apostles were arrested and put to trial by those who earlier had condemned Jesus. They were scolded for continuing to talk about Jesus even after being told to be silent. But they persisted in their testimony. So they were flogged and released with stronger warnings. But they continued to proclaim Jesus as Messiah everywhere. The Good News spread far and wide.
The second reading depicts a vision of a heavenly liturgy in honor of the Lamb (the Risen Christ). Numerous angels and other beings are all singing their song of praise to the Lamb who was slain, and now is exalted in glory.
We hear in the Gospel that the disciples seem not to know what to do with themselves without Jesus, until Peter announces that he is going fishing - back to his old way of life - and the others join in. Suddenly the Risen Lord appears on the shore, waiting to share breakfast with them. The bread and fish suggest that the meal has Eucharistic overtones. Then Jesus gives Peter the mission and foreshadows the way in which he would die - all for the spread of the Good News.

A medida que continuamos el tiempo de Pascua, las lecturas retratan la Buena Nueva de Jesucristo que se desborda y crece como levadura. No puede ser sofocado o sellado.
En la primera lectura, aprendemos que los apóstoles fueron arrestados y llevados a juicio por aquellos que anteriormente habían condenado a Jesús. Se les regañó por seguir hablando de Jesús, incluso después de que les dijeron que guardaran silencio. Pero ellos persistieron en su testimonio. Así que fueron azotados y liberados con advertencias más fuertes. Pero continuaron proclamando a Jesús como el Mesías en todas partes. La Buena Nueva se extendió por todas partes.
La segunda lectura representa una visión de una liturgia celestial en honor del Cordero (el Cristo resucitado). Numerosos ángeles y otros seres están todos cantando su canto de alabanza al Cordero que fue inmolado, y ahora es exaltado en gloria.
En el Evangelio escuchamos que los discípulos no parecen saber qué hacer consigo mismos sin Jesús, hasta que Pedro anuncia que va a pescar ---volver a su antigua forma de vida---y los demás se unen. De repente, el Señor resucitado aparece en la orilla, esperando compartir el desayuno con ellos. El pan y el pescado sugieren que la comida tiene matices eucarísticos. Entonces Jesús le da la misión a Pedro y presagia la forma en que moriría---todo por la difusión de la buena nueva.
