Greetings From Sister Marlita/Saludos de Sister Marlita

Our celebration of Palm Sunday this year is certainly a bit different from previous year’s celebrations. NO public blessing of the Palms (we do have some new palms that Fr. Dave has blessed); NO procession into Church with those palms like the crowd did when they welcomed Jesus to Jerusalem as king; NO reading of the Passion of Jesus together, reminding us of the tremendous sacrifice that Jesus made for us, so that we can enjoy eternal happiness for all eternity. BUT…

In the spirit of Palm Sunday, we can recall that today Jesus comes, not riding on a donkey to enter Jerusalem, but instead he wants to COME INTO OUR HEARTS. We may be a bit troubled and anxious these days, and maybe even fearful. Jesus comes, wanting to bring PEACE, and to remind us that he came not to be an earthly king, but a servant king, ready to serve.

Since many of us are with family members at home and taking care of one another, Jesus reminds us that his presence is real and we can reach out tenderly to one another to extend his own tenderness and care.

In the spirit of this Lenten season, if you can, tune in to one of the many LIVE STREAM Masses available. (mass-online.org). If you cannot, I would encourage you to gather together as family and take time to once again read the Passion of Jesus. (Matthew 26:14 to 27:66). Allow those old enough to read parts of it, too. Afterwards take some time for quiet and prayer together, remembering the great gift of love God has for each of us. STAY WELL.

Nuestra celebración del Domingo de Ramos este año es ciertamente un poco diferente de las celebraciones del año anterior. NO bendición pública de las palmas (tenemos algunas palmas nuevas que el Padre Dave ha bendecido); NINGUNA procesión a la Iglesia con esas palmas como hizo la multitud cuando dieron la bienvenida a Jesús a Jerusalén como rey; NO leer juntos la Pasión de Jesús, recordándonos el tremendo sacrificio que Jesús hizo por nosotros, para que podamos disfrutar de la felicidad eterna por toda la eternidad. PERO…

En el espíritu del Domingo de Ramos, podemos recordar que hoy Jesús viene, no montando un burro para entrar a Jerusalén, sino que quiere ENTRAR A NUESTROS CORAZONES. Podemos estar un poco preocupados y ansiosos en estos días, y tal vez incluso temerosos. Jesús viene, queriendo traer PAZ, y para recordarnos que él no vino para ser un rey terrenal, sino un rey servidor, listo para servir.

Dado que muchos de nosotros estamos con miembros de la familia en casa y nos cuidamos unos a otros, Jesús nos recuerda que su presencia es real y que podemos acercarnos tiernamente para extender su propia ternura y cuidado.

En el espíritu de esta temporada de Cuaresma, si puedes, sintoniza una de las muchas misas de LIVE STREAM disponibles. (mass-online.org). Si no puede, le animo a que se reúnan como familia y tómese el tiempo para leer una vez más la Pasión de Jesús. (Mateo 26:14 a 27:66). Permita que las personas lo suficientemente mayores lean partes de él también. Luego tómese un tiempo para la tranquilidad y la oración juntos, recordando el gran regalo de amor que Dios tiene para cada uno de nosotros. MANTENERSE BIEN.
